If you buy a new car today it has an alarm system installed as part of the standard equipment. Most homes have at the very least bolt type locks for the doors. We go to bed each night feeling safe because we locked our door so we know that no one will come in during the night. Are we fooling ourselves in to believing that nothing can happen to us? Do you take unnecessary risks each day with your personal safety? I will be the first to admit that I do and I believe I’m big and ugly enough that no one will bother me. But if someone desperate attacked me I would be as helpless as anyone else.

  We live in a society that allows for a certain amount of crime because there is no possible way to stop all of it. Most police forces are so overwhelmed with unsolved cases they will never catch up. We have to learn to protect ourselves and families by using prevention. What price should we put on our personal safety? If you could keep your belongings from being stolen or someone you love safe from harm wouldn’t it be worth it? I personally don’t want to have to kill someone if I don’t have to. I am in the military and spent a year in Iraq but that does not mean I want to see anyone dead. The emotional effects of killing someone are more then most people can handle.

  By using some of the simple personal protection devices on the market today you won’t have to deal with these effects. They will give you a level of protection that could save your life or protect your property. There are numerous reports of attackers being ran off or incapacitated by passive weapons. Even if you don’t think your community has a crime problem tomorrow it just might. Prices are going up and that alone will cause an increase in crime. 

  Some of the items I’m talking about of course are; personal alarms, pepper spray, stun guns, kubotans (a metal stick used to hit sensitive areas), and even knives. You can also take a course in self defense or purchase a training video. These are all items of prevention that are low cost and easy to use. There is also training available to use them so you will be ready when the time comes. It is highly recommended that you practice with them so that when an attack takes place you will automatically look for your weapon. Take the time today to look for some prevention.
